Berta Bees nucleus colonies are prepared with 3 frames of brood in all stages, 1 frame of feed and an empty frame with space for the queen to lay, inside a Jester brand corrugated plastic transport box and a famous Berta Bees queen bee, locally produced here in Canada.
The top 1% of our apiary is selected to be our breeding stock, with winter survivlal, colony strength, colony health, and honey production in mind. Our background in honey bee research coupled with our experience working at many of the biggest honey bee operations in the country make Berta Bees livestock a great choice for new beekeepers starting out or those looking to expand their apiaries.
How does the order process work?
When we receive your order, a 50% deposit is required to reserve your bees (This payment can be made using cash or e-transfer). Typically, our nucs are ready for their new homes towards the end of May or first week of June, depending on the weather. We will keep open communication with you, giving you ample time to prepare for your new companions. We will have pickup locations set up in Langley, Mission, and Chilliwack BC, and pickup times will be arranged in either the early morning or late evening to ensure all the bees are inside with minimal stress. There are a limited number of nucs available each season. These bees will sellout fast – get yours today!
